Cup Again?

In October 2022, WGSU proposed a plan to open an outdoor seating area for Glyn’s Bar. Due to Council guidelines and the Unions’ Single use plastic policy, students wouldn't be able to take their drinks outside. Dan Holmes, our Sustainability Officer put a motion to council for a keep cup campaign. (you can see Dan’s motion paper here). This motion was passed in December 2022 and the WGSU asked the University for a contribution towards the set up costs. (you can see the proposal paper here).

Then… Cup Again? Was born!

Cup Again? Is a simple concept where Students can pay a £2 deposit for a re-useable, dishwasher safe ½ pint and pint marked cup. It’s then up to you if you would like to keep the cup or return for a full refund. The cups can then be washed and sanitised ready for the next use.

Here’s a sneak peek of the latest design which is now in production with HappyCups…

Different designs will become available over time as every £2 received for the cups sold will go straight back into the fund to purchase more! If you are interested in designing a cup please contact carrie.bennett@glyndwr.ac.uk
