Interim CEO - 12 Month Secondment

Salary: £49,310 increasing to £51,000 in August 2026

Contract: 12 Months on a secondment basis 

Hours: 35 per week

Location: Wrexham main campus

Reports to: Chair of the Board of Trustees 

Purpose of the post: The Interim Chief Executive Officer (Secondment) will provide strong, visible leadership and operational continuity at Wrexham Students’ Union during the substantive CEO’s period of adoption leave. The role will sustain strategic momentum, ensure the effective day-to-day running of the organisation, and maintain high standards of governance, financial stewardship, and regulatory compliance. Working in close partnership with the Board of Trustees, Elected Officers, senior staff, and Wrexham University, the Interim CEO will ensure that services, staff support, and student representation continue to operate at a high standard safeguarding organisational stability while enabling a smooth and successful transition on the CEO’s return.

External Trustee

We’re looking for an External Trustee to join our Board of Trustees and help lead our charity. This voluntary role (reasonable expenses paid) is a unique opportunity to gain experience as a director of a registered charity.

Student Trustee

We’re recruiting a Student Trustee to work alongside officers, staff, and external trustees, helping shape the SU’s future. This part-time voluntary role is open to all current Wrexham University students and offers experience in charity governance and leadership.
