The Students’ Union Elections are your chance to step up and make a real difference at Wrexham University.

Each year, students elect the President, Vice President, and part-time officers who sit on Student Council, shaping decisions that affect student life across the University.

Stand for Election

All current students can nominate themselves - no experience required! Training and support are provided for every successful candidate.

In the October Elections only a handful of roles are up grabs, the ones listed below will be the only roles available.

Full-time roles: President and Vice President (paid positions)

Part-time roles: Various voluntary officer positions alongside your studies

Standing in the elections is a fantastic way to gain leadership experience, campaign, and help shape university life.

The next Election will be in October 2026

 

Recommend A Friend

Recommend a Friend lets students nominate someone they think would be great for a Students’ Union election role.

By submitting a recommendation through the form, they help highlight strong potential candidates!

This will be available for the next Election in October 2026 (Bye-Elections)

 

Frequently asked questions

Who Can Stand For Election?

Any student can stand, as long as you fit the criteria of the role you are applying for. Click nominate yourself to submit your manifesto - If you want more information please contact ben.sanders@wrexham.ac.uk, or attend one of our training events linked on the website.

What Are The Roles Available?

Roles Available In the October Election Will be in BOLD.

Full-time roles (paid):  President - Vice President

Part-time roles (unpaid, voluntary):  Women’s Officer - International Students’ Officer - Equality / Diversity and Inclusion Officer - Northop Officer - Partner Institutions Officer - Mature Student / Parent / Carer Officer - Postgraduate Officer - Degree Apprentice Officer - Sustainability Officer - Welsh Language Officer / Swyddog Cymraeg - Regent Street Officer - St Asaph Officer - Online Student Officer.

Can I Recommend Someone For A Role?

Yes you can! You can Recommend anyone for a role in Election season, it is easy to do and helps us in finding students who fit the roles!

What Training Do You Recieve?

Once you have self nominated you will receive training on how to campaign in elections. Following on from this you will receive training on how to do the role successfully.
