Ki Aikido Society Hosted a Free Taster Session!

Tuesday 14-05-2024 - 00:00

Wrexham University's Ki Aikido Society hosted a free taster session on the evening of Thursday 2nd of May, in our very own Glyn's Bar and Lounge! 🥋

Leon Thomas, President of the Society and member of the Rhostyllen Ki Aikdio dojo, had this to say:

"A great first session of our beginner's course hosted at WGSU!

It was lovely to meet everyone and really great to see how engaging everyone was!

Our students class began with some light stretches and our Ki for health exercises to loosen up our bodies ready for training.

The first half of our class Sensei Toni taught Ki development exercises. This aspect of our training is to develop postural stability, build positive relaxation techniques and build a relationship with our "one point" (our centre of gravity).

In the second half of our class we practiced keeping our one point whilst learning the throws, pins and breakfalls used in aikido.

At the end we spent sometime meditating to calm our minds and relax before we finished class.

Our beginner's course will continue to run through the rest of May at our main Dojo in Rhostyllen, 7- 9 pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend any and all sessions!

We hope to see you soon!"
