All our daytime events are free for Wrexham University students to attend. Examples of our daytime events include Hee-Haw Huddle & Volunteer Fair and Thrifty Business. These names may not give much away but stay tuned for full details! Our largest daytime event will be Freshers’ Fair on Thursday 26th September which will be a chance for you to see what Wrexham has to offer whether that be sports, societies or jobs. Local businesses, charities and public services will be attending as well as sponsors such as Domino's – all with freebies for you so don’t miss out!
Our evening events are an opportunity to let your hair down and party! We have our Glynstonbury Festival night as well as the return of Glyngo Bingo where there are loads of prizes to be won! But don’t worry – if this isn’t your bag, we have a Wrexham Quiz Night and a Games Night where there will be board games and card games galore for you to try out. Our evening events are ticketed, and each event comes with an on-the-door ticket price… or you could buy a Freshers’ Wristband to save over 50%!
Wristbands for this year’s Welcome Week cost just £24 and will get you entry into every evening event throughout the week!* Wristbands work out at less than 50% of the price compared to paying for each event on the door – what a bargain! All information about wristbands and on-the-door prices can be found on our events page.
*Wristband holders will have priority entry for a set period of time. Please arrive during this time to guarantee your entry.
Welcome Week is a great time to meet people who may have shared interests – these people could turn in to friends for life so don’t miss out!
Some events may not be your type of thing but it may be good to attend them so you get an idea of what to expect from the SU in the future – who knows, you may have fun!
Freshers’ Fair is the best way to see what Wrexham University, Wrexham Students’ Union and the surrounding areas have to offer you. There will be lots of opportunities to join societies, sports teams or even apply for a job!
Make sure to put yourself first in all circumstances and don’t push yourself to go out if you’re not feeling it. Make sure you eat and drink enough water to get you through the week!
If you think you’ll be attending all or the majority of the evening events, save yourself some money and buy a wristband! You will be saving over £25 by buying a wristband when compared to buying a ticket on the door at each event. Freshers' wristbands are limited, and we anticipate them selling out, so be sure to secure yours here!
See you in September!
