Why YOU Should Nominate Someone in the SU Awards This Year!

With less than a week left to nominate someone from Wrexham University for this year’s annual SU Awards, it got me thinking…

As a previous award winner, I reflect fondly on those special times as significant moments of achievement. It’s crazy to think someone took a minute out of their day to highlight something positive I’d done. I’m truly grateful for that recognition. Not only did it motivate me to work harder, but it also reminded me to believe in myself during moments of doubt (and that pesky imposter syndrome).

I completely get it - people are busy. Work, study, and home life can consume most of your day. But take a moment to consider nominating a student or staff member for an award this year.

There’s a chance that the person or team you nominate may get shortlisted or even win! That recognition could mark an incredible milestone in their life. You could be part of making that happen.

This year, there are over 20 award categories to choose from, including Lecturer of the Year, Welsh Champion of the Year, Society of the Year, and Course Rep of the Year. With so many options, you may want to nominate in more than one category! The deadline for nominations is 11th April 2025 at 5pm.
