Wrexham SU is officially 8 years old! It’s about time we gave our much loved Union a fresh lick of paint. Last year, it was announced that an SU rebrand would take place. This of course aligned well with the launch of Wrexham University’s new branding.

One year later and we can be excited about a fantastic fresh look for Wrexham SU. A vibrant, all-grown-up look we can be truly proud of as we look to the bright future.

Making a bold statement

Students provided massive input into the branding and expressed a strong desire for something that reflected our Welsh heritage, while retaining values of inclusion and connectedness. From surveys to mood board participation, student feedback played a significant part in building a brand that stands out. More of this is explained in our previous blog, which you can read here. From this came our logo, inspired by the celtic knot to demonstrate not only our Welsh heritage but also the interconnection between students, the University and the wider community.

An in-house project with heart

We had the opportunity to conduct the rebrand entirely in-house, deciding not to hire an external design agency. A combination of design expertise and deep understanding of what Wrexham SU represents through close collaboration with our small (but mighty!) team really did inject passion into the project.

The future is bright!

We can’t wait to hear what all students think about our new look and especially can’t wait to see the new logo and colours make an appearance on signage and digital channels! You can expect to see more revealed in the next few months, so keep your eyes peeled!
