The event was populated by local businesses and charities and their stalls spread across Queen’s Square, with Llwyn Isaf handing out pride flags, stickers, temporary tattoos and more. Wrexham University LGBTQ+ Staff Network hosted a stall where they were handing out pronoun badges in Welsh and English along with University-branded merchandise.
The Pride March started at 1:30pm, with hundreds of people leaving from Wrexham Guidhall and trailing throughout the City Centre while on-lookers supported from the streets. Staff from the Students’ Union walked in the parade and held the Wrexham University banner. Check out the TikTok of the parade here.
Once the parade had concluded, the LGBTQ+ community and allies came together to enjoy entertainment and karaoke hosted by local Drag Artist Shaggerada. It was inspiring to see so many people coming together for one cause and creating such a positive atmosphere.
Pride Wrecsam is aiming for this event to become an annual occurrence so if you would like to get involved next year, be sure to stay up to date with their social media!
