🧠 April 29th | 10:00–13:00 | Face-to-face (The Hub - 1st floor of the ELC building)
Laura will be talking about her role as a treating therapist working with medical-legal clients, including individuals with brain injuries where liability is involved. She’ll also discuss her experiences within expert witness work and what that can look like in practice. Her day-to-day work includes power-based AAC, cognitive communication disorders, and dysphagia, so it’s a great insight into a really unique area of SLT.
🏥 May 7th | 17:00–18:00pm | Online
Sophie will share her experience working with adults with stroke and brain injury across hyper-acute, acute, and community settings. She’ll talk about what it’s like to work in a hospital, alongside case studies (including pharyngeal electrical stimulation) and MDT work.
💬 May 13th | 14:30–15:30 | Online
Becky will talk about the challenges of working in acute settings, with a focus on supporting patients with mental health needs. She’ll share a case study and discuss her work in dysphagia and mental health, with plenty of opportunity for reflection.
