It was that time of year again for staff to visit every campus to collect all the bras for Africa! We smashed last years record with a huge 400 bras donated.
Thank you to everyone who supported the campaign and brought your unwanted bras in. No matter the condition, Recycling for Chairty can accept all donations, if they are in poor condition they recycle the material to make new ones!
In August 2023, staff visited every campus to collect all the bras to send off to Recycling for Charity. We can confirm we collected an amazing 323 bras! Thank you to everyone who supported the campaign and we can’t wait to try and beat this number next summer! Banks can still be found at all our campuses..

Our bra recycling scheme, in conjunction with Breast Cancer Research UK takes your unwanted or unloved bras and through our network of bra banks raises vital funds for pioneering breast cancer research.
The same bras also help to support small businesses in developing countries in Africa and around the world. Together with Breast Cancer Research and their recycling partners, the textile recovery project prevents these bras going into landfill before giving them a new lease of life in countries such as Togo, Ghana and Kenya, where bras remain expensive to produce locally.
Successful ventures like this provide an income for families in developing countries whilst providing employment for people living in the UK. Any bras that are genuinely beyond redemption are dismantled and disposed of properly.
For every tonne of bras collected, Against Breast Cancer receives £700 to fund our research. With over 30 million women in the UK you could really help make a difference!
