Here is my manifesto for the role of LGBTQ+ officer: 

I am putting myself forward for the role of LGBTQ+ officer as I know I have the skills and experience required for this role. I have previously been Womens Officer, Vice President and President of Wrexham Students' Union, and would love to come back on to student council to continue making a difference to the student experience. This role in particular resonates with me because I have seen first hand the difficulties individuals within the LGBTQ+ community have to face on a daily basis. Being a bisexual female in a straight-presenting relationship often means that I get treated as an outsider by heterosexual individuals, but also by the LGBTQ+ community. I would like to create safe, open spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals to mingle, share experiences and empower one another to make change within the organisation.
