Who am I?  

Hello, my name is Molly Gale, and I am born deaf with single cochlear in my ear. I have been struggling my whole life with miscommunications because of the noise backgrounds in the public with friends and family.  I’m running my own society called ‘Sign Language Society’. This society isn’t all about only for deaf people but for everyone like non-deaf and hard of hearing people.  I will be running for the Equality, Diversity and Inclusive Officer (EDI Officer) position because I want to represent the new face to many deaf people at this University. I will be here to advocate all the supports to everyone regardless of disabilities and deafness.  

Manifesto

• By breaking the barriers, deaf students will be able to be engage with other students without being ignored or neglected. 

• To ensure that everyone including deaf students get the most support and accessible in classes and Societies.  

• Deaf awareness will be in every classroom every few months.  

• Putting out more new information about sign languages to anyone who are interested.  

• Adjusting to make sure deaf students feels comfortable. 

• Every video will be subtitled on even on Moodle and other websites, so people won’t miss out any information. 

• To provide any new volunteers who will be keen to help keeping deaf society moving forward. 

•  Tackle many issues from the deaf students and helping them moving forwards. 

• Increasing more opportunities showing up for the deaf students and students with disability.
